Tips To Help You Improve Your Relationship Skills

It takes time to learn and know yourself and others. Therefore practice is the best way to achieve your relationship goals and to improve your interpersonal skills. As with anything, these interpersonal skills may take some time for you to adopt and then see the results.

However, there are many ways to be in any type of relationship especially the close ones. Here are some quick ways I have discovered that work for me. You can start to use these right away and see results almost immediately.

Take some time to evaluate how you are doing and being in relationships.

Use the 'who', 'what', 'where', 'when' and 'how' to determine how you are with yourself and others.

By using the above well-known formula of four "Ws" and an "H", will simplify your quest of improving your relationship skills. Asking yourself questions and giving yourself honest answers you will be able to transform the interactions in your relationships

1. Stay focused on your goal of improved relationships.

Be present with each person at all times and be an active listener in every situation. Remember that the way you act reflects on your character. Learn to deal with situations in a compassionate and appropriate way. Remember, " Do unto others as you would like done to you " .

2. Establish authenticity and credibility.

Be sincere, honest and be your true self. If you are truthful and upfront with yourself and others, you will feel and see it, so will the other person and this will help to have a long-lasting relationship which will go a long way to earning your own self respect and the other person's respect, trust and friendship.

3. Understand and respect others' points of view.

Remember that you don"t have to agree or like everything everybody says. Learn more about them and their beliefs by listening ask questions, and are interested. Reflecting on what others tell you will help you understand them and you will also grow. Remember, listening to what your intuition or inner guidance is telling you about what ' s being said is a must and a positive way to trust yourself. Even if you disagree, take the time to learn and understand where the other person is coming from and the person's perspective. Also examine where you are coming from. Look at your own value or belief system maybe your own inner stories and more . This will help you weed out those relationships that bring you down and are not supportive of you, your development and your purpose in life. We are all wired to be in relationships. Relationships are very important in human development and experience on the planet .

The topic for the month of September is Stress.

Stress can kill but we can lessen, loosen, lighten it up and even let most of it go ! So what do YOU do on your journey for a better physical, emotional, mental and spiritual life? Like what ? ... Anything ? What does your list look like ?

Stress, in simple terms, is the wear and tear of life! There will always be stressors ...that which creates stress. There are different kinds of stressors, such as physical stressors, frustration stressors, mental stressors and even spiritual stressors! How can we manage and stay on track and even enhance our level of wellness as we purposely, or by chance, hopefully, move toward enlightenment?

So much is available from the natural health therapies, healing arts, energy psychology, new age medicine discoveries and ideas that are not always in the mainstream, as well as insights from various sciences.

Specifically there are ideas, techniques, procedures, processes, discoveries, guidelines, mini-treats, insights, secrets, tips from the world of wellness and natural health that can be described, shared and tried out in a light-hearted, fun way at the SFC ( Spiritual Frontiers Canada) next event starting with our new program in September. You may recognize or be surprised by experiencing samples from : acupressure/shiatsu, hand and face reflexology, ear reflexology, heartmath, reboundology, gelotology, hugology, virtues project, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique ), and others.

Objectives for Sept.1 and Sept.17:

1. Explain or describe introductions to various natural therapies, healing arts, wellness techniques, special procedures, processes, practical guidelines, insights, discoveries, secrets, tips, etc.

2. Demonstrate and apply many ideas and mini-treats from the above smorgasborg - for your evaluation and probable personal benefit.

3. Adopt several of the above ideas and applications for a better wellness lifestyle/journey on your way to enlightenment.

So on Thursday, Sept. 1, regular Talk night, and Saturday, September 17, Workshop, SFC ( Spiritual Frontiers Canada ) will continue to enlighten your wellness pathway with ideas, demos and applications from the general world of natural health, wellness techniques, and some energy psychology. Thursday, August 4 (7:15 - 9 pm) Movie Evening: The Silent Revolution Of Truth - ( DVD up to 74 minutes) by Augusto Vieira - We are going to view what can be called the most important story in the world today. This is the story of a Swiss farmer named Billy Meier, who has evidence that he is being contacted by extra terrestrials. The evidence ranges from photos, videos, metals samples, and warnings published decades before they occurred. Despite the phenomena surrounding the case, these extra terrestrials are not here to simply "wow " us but to re-introduce what they consider to be creation's true teachings ...the Spiritual Teachings.

We live in a difficult time in human history. Our world is plagued by many problems. In looking for answers you and I encounter many explanations. Even though these various explanations may be coherent they mostly lack something that truly substantiates answers or explanations offered - evidence. How often do we ask ourselves what evidence is there to support various claims?

Aside from the positive message about life on our planet and the universe, they have also come to warn us about the current direction of earth humanity. They seek to assist us in this respect so that we may avoid what they consider to be an unbelievable disaster. The videos and photos and all other such available phenomena were intended to gain our attention so that we may heed their call to action. They are not here to save us from ourselves, but to encourage us to take responsibility in creating the world we wish to live in.

Thursday, July 7 (7:15 - 9pm) SFC Musicfest: SFC Unity Thru Song - Charles and Heidi Gregoire - An evening of celebrating our unity with music. Thursday, June 2(7:15 - 9:00 pm) Talk: Introduction to Quantum-Touch Therapy and Demonstration of techniques - Aileen M. McKenna. Practiced for centuries in the eastern countries, and only recently considered even valid in the west, Quantum-Touch therapy as developed by Richard Gordon has taken the mystique out of hands-on energy healing and developed a modality that makes the possibility to produce miracles an everyday event. Using skills we were born with, and understanding simple techniques that everyone can learn, the ability to assist our families, friends, clients, pets and plants can become a regular part of your life. Saturday, April 16, (1 - 5 pm) Workshop: Healing Through Music with Sylvia Moscovitz, BA, MEd, BMus, Dip. Special Ed., RMT. Music Therapy is a therapeutic practice which uses music as a tool for healing. In this workshop, you will experience some of the exercises, techniques and activities which are used to relax or energize, or to inprove cognitive function, memory and learning. You will learn how music can work in concert with guided imagery and visualization to help you toward the achievement of your goals; how it is used to shepherd the dying into a state of peace and acceptance; how it can help you mark significant occasions in your life; how it can serve as a strong voice for those who can no longer speak; how it can lead to improved immune function; and how it unites all of us in a joyful shared group experience which allows for the creative process and self-expression in a non-threatening and nurturing environment. Most of all, you will share in the joy of making music with others! Participants are asked to bring any musical or percussion instruments they may have.
At the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- Experienced for themselves how music can bring peace, joy, energy, healing and catharsis to their daily lives;
- Learned various techniques and skills to create music or to be an active listener;
- Explored some of the current music therapy techniqus found to be effective and in which situations they are best applied.

Dora Joseph will be the Master of Ceremonies for the Party and Talent Show.

Sat Nov 20 (1pm-5pm) Workshop: TANTRA YOGA MEDITATION Chris Simmons, "Ordained teacher within the Tantra Yoga lineage and a member of the Ananda Seva Mission (ASM). Tantra Yoga Meditation Info: This Workshop will be largely practical. A theoretical understanding of the practices will be presented at each part. Yoga: People will practice some simple yoga postures with the intent of learning how the postures can affect the nervous system, endocrine system and the subtle energy body. Chanting: Chris will lead some chanting so the participants can understand and experience the effect of taral freqencies on the chakras and state of mind. Meditation: Participants will be guided through a number of meditation experiences to help them understand the process and results of meditation."

Fri Nov 5 (7:15pm - 9:00pm) Talk: TANTRA YOGA MEDITATION Chris Simmons, Ordained teacher within the Tantra Yoga lineage and a member of the Ananda Seva Mission (ASM). Tantra Yoga Meditation Info: The talk will present an overview of chakras, the subtle energy body and spiritually expanded states of consciousness as understood in Tantra. Each spiritual tradition has its own way of talking about expanded consiousness. Chris will show how the chakra system can be used as a basis for understanding these states of consciousness in various traditions. Chris will also explain how the Tantra meditation and subtle energy practices relate to the chakra theory. During the last half of the talk, Chris will lead some yoga stretches, chanting and a guided meditation so that people can gain first hand experience of the practices.
